| Q. I made a trade for a new player,
when do I start earning points for that player? |
|
| A. Scoring weeks always run Monday-Sunday,
so any trade made goes into effect the following Monday. So, if you trade
for new pitcher, for example, on Wednesday, you will start earning points
for that player starting Monday of the next week. At 11am ET on Monday,
your roster is locked for that week and then any trades made after 11am
ET go into effect for the following week. |
|
| Q. Can I trade for new pitchers
on a daily basis? |
|
| A. No. While you may change your
pitchers every day, any time you make a player trade, that new player does
not go into effect until the following week. So, once the trading deadline
passes at 11am ET on Monday, your roster is locked for that entire scoring
week. |
|
| Q. If I make a trade on Tuesday
and then decide to go back to my original player prior to the trade deadline,
will I be charged for a trade? |
|
| A. No. You are only charged for actual
changes made to your roster at the end of the week when compared to your
roster from the previous week. |
|
| Q. Can I make as many trades as
I want? |
|
| A. Yes, the number of trades you make
is unlimited. |
|
| Q. Can I trade for a player more
than once in a season? |
|
| A. Yes, the number of times you drop
and add a player is unlimited. |
|
| Q. Am I automatically placed in
a league? |
|
| A. No, joining a league is not required.
You simply compete against all teams entered in the contest. You do have
the option of joining a league of friends to track standings among just
that selected group of teams. |
|
| Q. Are prizes awarded for league
winners? |
|
| A. No. All leagues are for bragging
rights only. |
|
| Q. Do I have to select all 12 players?
B> |
|
| A. YES. All teams must have a full
12-player roster to be valid. If you do not select a full 12-player roster,
you will not receive points for that contest week. |
|
| Q. Why can't I leave a position
blank and play just 11 players? |
|
| A. We penalize any team that doesn't
field a roster of 12 because part of the strategy of the game is to choose
12 players while staying under the salary cap. So, we can't allow teams
to leave a typically lower scoring position (like catcher) unfilled and
use the money saved to choose a more expensive player at a typically higher
scoring position. |
|
| Q. There is a player I want to
add to my team but he's not listed. Can I add him to my team? |
|
| A. Just send us an email requesting
any player not listed. We will assign a salary and add him to the available
player list within 2 business days. |
|
| Q. When do weekly scoring periods
run? |
|
| A. All scoring periods run Monday
through Sunday. |
|
| Q. Am I competing head-to-head
against another team each week? |
|
| A. No. The Salary Cap Challenge is
a points-based fantasy league in which you compete against all teams entered
in the contest based on total points earned. |
